Sunday School Lesson

What is worship?

That was what our Sunday School lesson was based on this morning. Worship goes beyond just music. Our purpose in life is to bring glory to God. So all of our thoughts and actions should be motivated/birthed out of our worship of Him- very applicable reminder while in the midst of an adoption that I really have no control over (do I worship even when things don't go my way? See the book of Job when God begins asking Job questions such as "Where were you when the foundations of the earth were laid?").

Anyway, our teacher even mentioned worship controls how he responds when his teenage daughter disobeys. How convicting! Can Sierra and Corban see worship when I discipline? Or do they only see condemnation? Yes, I take them back to Scripture and we pray asking for forgiveness. But worship? Sadly, I don't think so. Father, please wash me, forgive me, of this sin. When my children wake from their naps, I will be apologizing to them as well and asking for their forgiveness too. Thank you, God, for showing me another area where I need to lean on you more. Thank you for your promise to help me. And thank you for my beautiful children. They are always so quick to forgive me.
