Hi Charisa,
Honestly, I'm not sure how positive I can be about how any medical issue will impact your process in Bulgaria. Recently, I have received information from our Partner agency indicating that if prospective parents have any health condition or are requesting special consideration for any issue (medical, mental health, or criminal history), Vesta cannot guarantee the opinion of the Ministry of Justice. In your case, it would just be the medical issue.
In fact, she says families that have serious medical conditions will possibly not be selected as adoptive parents because there are many applicants who are healthy. If there are no adoptive parents registered for available children (most likely children who are most difficult to find families for) then it is possible the Ministry may give a chance to adoptive parents with medical issues for the children who have no other options.
Why don't you let me know how your appointment goes on Friday and what the doctor says. Unfortunately, I think having any current heart condition may be seen as serious. Sorry I can't be more encouraging, but want to be very honest with you. Let's continue discussing this week.
Thanks, Angie
