Our Children

As part of our homestudy, Philip and I had to describe our children. I thought I would post our responses to let you get to know our children just a little better. The pictures are used by permission of SDG Photography. You can visit this photographer's website at www.sdgphotography.net

P's Response: Sierra is our oldest child, a daughter, nearly four years of age. She is happy and generally very obedient. She loves to laugh and have fun, and has boundless energy. She loves to mother our youngest, and plays well with the middle child. She has a great imagination that she uses in play, acting out all sorts of things with her dolls, etc. She loves to read, and generally does some both with parents and by herself on a daily basis. On rare occasions, she exhibits a legendary stubbornness. She is a blue-eyed blonde (turning brown), a little short for her age, and thin. Charisa has started pre-kindergarten work with Sierra, and she has taken to it pretty well.

C's Response: Sierra Michelle- blond, fair skin, blue eyes, turns 4 years old in July 2008. She loves all things princess. She has a strong personality and is extremely verbal. She is a very loving and caring big sister. She has a great sense of humor. Very little gets by her. She loves to entertain and be the center of attention.

P's Response:Corban is our middle child, a son, just over two years of age. He is more reserved than his sister, but exhibits a similar range of energy. He loves anything to do with cars, trains or engines, and spends countless hours driving his car and train toys around the house. He runs to the window any time a school bus or the next door neighbor’s car goes by, pronouncing “school bus, daddy!” or “noisy car!” He loves his play tools, and screws, drills and tape measure. He loves his Daddy, and often follows me around the house wanting to know “doin’ Daddy?” He plays with Sierra regularly, and is being taught to share with her and respect what she is playing with. He is always willing to give up toys to his playmates at their request and pick other new things to play with. He loves to read with his Mommy and Daddy, and will sit quietly through relatively longer books written for children older than him. He is generally obedient, although he has his moments. He is a blue-eyed blond like his sister, a little short for his age and thin.

C's Response: Corban Johannessen- blond, fair skin, blue eyes, just turned 2 years old in February 2008. He loves anything with wheels and an engine. He has a tender heart and is my cuddler- although he’ll never miss a chance to wrestle with his dad. Corban does much better one-on-one rather than be in a crowd. He adores his sister. Corban is great at making people laugh without necessarily trying because his face and eyes are so expressive.

P's Response: Ian is the newest to our family, a son of about 7 months old. He was about a month premature, but has been developing relatively normally with consideration of his premature birth. He is a happy individual, and loves to play and make noise with his Daddy. He is quick with a smile, and echoes noises and coos with energy. He has a shriek when he giggles that will set your ears ringing if you happen to be nearby. As with our other children, he is a blue eyed blond, although Ian is far more chunky than his siblings ever were.

C's Response: Ian Christopher- brown hair, fair skin, blue eyes, 7 months old. Overall a happy and easy-going baby. He is quick to laugh and loves to watch his siblings. Sierra can always evoke a smile from him.
