Our God is Stronger!

I received a little more information this evening from Holt:

Hi Charisa,

I understand your confusion, the process confuses us at times too! Mary Paul went to the court to speak to the judge who is apparently handling all of the adoption cases right now. We have many cases that are in the same situation you are with the court process and some who have hearings, but the dates he is setting are very far out. So, Mary went to talk to him to see if she could explain to him the urgency of these cases in regards to the children and get him to move things along quicker.

The judge told Mary Paul to have the attorney submit a request to advance the hearing up to 13 April. If this request is granted, then the attorney will have to push the judge to complete the hearings in time to issue the court order before the Summer Recess. We don’t know if this will be successful or not. It could be that the first hearing will occur on 4/13 and then nothing further until after the Summer Recess. It could be that the first and second hearings could occur before the Summer Recess, but then nothing further until after the break. We just don’t know and have to wait and see if the judge heeds Mary’s please for expediency.

So the news today was a little hopeful, but at the same time not something that we can ‘hang our hat’ on. Of course, Dean and I will let you know as soon as we get any news.

Take care,
Mary
