What in the world is God thinking?! I know this may elicit a chuckle from some of you, but seriously! I have had a week of asking God, "What in the world are You thinking to be calling us to adopt?!" It seems every lesson and moment of instruction I have ever given to my children since the day they were born has been tossed out the window. It appears commands such as "Don't hit," and "Respect authority," are foreign concepts. My three seem to be living in a state of anarchy. Why in the world would He be calling us to expand our family when it feels like we can't keep the one's He has already entrusted to us in order?
So, now that I have bared this discouraged mama's heart, I guess it's time to quit asking, "Why?" and buckle down and get the job done. So, if you think of us this week....and probably for the next several, please whisper up a prayer for us as we enlist our children in "Philip and Charisa's Boot Camp."

Can I hire you when you are done :) Summer is right around the corner and I agree some rules are in order. It is hard to take control when we are out-numbered! Believe me we all get frustrated sometime with small children, I too have 3.
Wow, I can see by your area code and church that we are two families living very close to each other that are adopting from Bulgaria. We are just a couple months behind you...just a few weeks from completing our homestudy. I'd love to talk and wait along with you. whauter@hotmail.com
Three or four really makes no difference. :) Some days they will all be angels.... other days they will get into lots of mischief!
I can so understand your frustration. I think Satan is working overtime to cause doubts. This past week was very hard with my two teenagers and I thought the same thing ... what is God thinking? But lots of prayer, rest and some kind words from others have be back on track realizing his goal and plan is much better than mine. I will continue to pray for your family!
too funny! My husband has said the same thing to me, how can we adopt another if we can't handle the 2 we already have? I see this as a time to fine tune our parenting (if that is possible). My kids show me where my sin areas are for sure, the are God's way of refining us I believe :) We can do all things through Christ you strengthens us!
You and Heidi need to develop an 'Anarchy Support Club'. All those reasons contribute to why we don't have a dog...
