Leaving on a Jet Plane!

"Hi Charisa,
I received a copy of Hanna’s passport today!! It is attached to this email for you. VCT will give you the original when you are there to receive Hanna...."

And that is the start of the email we have waited so very long to receive! Now that the absolute crazy flurry of emails and phone calls have died down for the night, reality is finally starting to set in. Today really did happen. I didn't just dream it again for the thousandth time. We really are leaving very soon to go get our baby. And can I just say that my head is swimming with just how quickly I went from thinking 2 weeks is forever, to now 2 weeks feeling like a breath of time?!! There is SO MUCH to do to get ready to leave!!!

Nothing is final yet, but it is looking like we will fly out Saturday the 12th. We will meet Hannah and her foster family on the 15th with the 16th being Gotcha Day. We'll fly to New Delhi on the 18th and see if we can get her medical appointment that day or the next. We're then hoping we can have our Embassy interview on the 21st or 22nd. The 23rd will be reserved in case we have to come back the next day to actually receive Hannah's visa. We will spend Thanksgiving in India and then we'll fly home on the 25th.

A neat reminder happened today. Our travel agent was shocked and a little stumped that Hannah's passport has no last name. She's not sure how to enter her in the system having only one name. We agreed we'd have enough documentation with us to allow her to book airline tickets for Hannah as 'Hanna Ausfahl.' The similarity to what Christ has already done for me was just too huge to miss. Hasn't Christ given me His name, 'Christ-ian,' in order to allow me into His heaven? Thank you, Jesus, for my salvation and for my children!

Oh Charisa....how will you contain the tears when that little girl is in your arms? I am so beyond thrilled that this journey is almost over....and yet just at its beginning! I can't WAIT to see those pictures. What a HAPPY day for me to read this and moreso for you to have written it. My goodness what a wonderful thanksgiving you will have THIS year!
