Indian Court Saga

We received the following update from VCT today:
“We have called the scrutiny only to be told that they have not received the notice from the court. They can file their report only when court sends the notice. The court has given us the date of June 1st and we are hoping the notice will go to the scrutiny before that date.”

The last time we were scheduled for court back in April, our case was postponed because of this same issue. Please pray the court sends the notice ASAP. I asked the program director at Holt if it would help if I were present for the hearing- or if there was ANYTHING we could be doing to help things along. He was very sympathtic and equally frustrated, but the answer was "no" and actually showing up would hurt us because it sends the message that we are wealthy Americans that can afford flights over there. He explained then things will be further delayed as they try to milk us for bribes, etc.

Please pray for angels to walk our paperwork through their system. We know we serve a powerful God. As Nehemiah prayed, "O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night..." We are getting our backs up against the wall on having all of our paperwork expire again. We've already used up our one free I800 extension and one free change of country. Thank you all for praying.

***UPDATE***

We have been delayed again and, as of yet, do not have another date. Holt explained that they've never had this problem before between the Scrutiny Dept and the Court. While it is typical to have new judges all the time, the court we are trying to get through has had a complete turn-over in staff as well. So no one there knows what they're doing.

What a hard lesson.....to learn to wait. So much of our lives are spent in waiting, I have learned. Though our situation with Tyler was much different, I do remember the waiting and waiting.....waiting with an empty nursery for a year and then waiting an entire other year until he was officially declared "ours." Now our lives are immersed in our 2 year old who keeps us on our toes and that waiting is something that barely becomes part of our thinking. I remember you encouraging me with the same thing as I waiting endless days and nights at the NICU with my Trenton. You encouraged me that soon that wiating would be in the past and you were certainly right. It did not make it easier or quicker at the time, but be encouraged that soon Hannah will be in your arms. Praying for your family today, friend!

Praying for you today, Charisa, that the Lord would allow your paperwork to proceed quickly and without any additional delays.
