NOC!!!!!!

"Certified that the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), Ministry of Women and Child Development, (the Central Authority of Government of India on Adoption Matters) has 'NO OBJECTION' to the placement of the under-mentioned child with the prospective adoptive parent(s) (PAPs) mentioned against their name(s)..."

WAHOO!!!!! Although we are just finding out about our NOC today, it was issued back on Dec. 27th- only 5 days after receiving our Article 5 Letter. Usually it takes 4-6 weeks to receive the NOC. AMAZING! It seems there is an angel walking Hannah's paperwork through each office.

So here is what is to come:

Bangalore Court Process

The following is a description of the Bangalore court process received from VCT:

"The first hearing is the day when the scrutiny files in their report.

The 2nd hearing is when an affidavit is filed by the advocate.

The 3rd hearing is 'for arguments'. This of course does not happen because there are no respondents. This hearing is mostly a formality.

If the judge feels like it he may ask for a further date and then give a final date for the orders. The number of hearings ranges from 3-5 normally. In some cases of course we have a few more postponements."

Please be prepared for 3-5 hearing dates, each with the potential to be postponed. The hearings are usually scheduled 2-4 weeks apart but this is up to the discretion of the judge. VCT is not provided the details of what happens at every court hearing. If something is required of you for the court or judge, then the attorney will inform VCT. VCT will then contact Holt with what is needed and we will then contact you to obtain the information for the court.

The outcome of the hearings is provided to VCT; ie: the hearing occurred or was postponed and the next scheduled court date. Holt will inform you of this information as soon as we have the news from VCT. Even though India is a day ahead of us, we do not usually hear the outcome of a hearing until 1-2 business days after the date of the hearing. We will contact you as soon as we have any news on the outcome of a hearing.

Things are really moving! Gotta love that! You are now a month ahead of the process as it should have taken 4-6 weeks. God is answering prayers for you and Hannah!
