DCFS Approval- Again!!!!

Last night after we got home from Awana and I rushed through getting the kids in bed, I was working on the computer and came across pictures of the kids when they were younger and was again struck with just how quickly I've lost my babies. They are growing fast enough to break this mama's heart. Then and there I decided today would be spent having fun together and loving on my kids. Philip and I swore when we started this adoption journey that we would not allow ourselves to focus so much on the adoption that we robbed ourselves of our time with the children God has already gifted us with. But in the last few weeks, that is what I've allowed to happen.
So, today has been an absolutely wonderful day! It was a morning filled with crafts and imaginative play and lots of hugs and "I love you's." Sierra has headed off to choir with the Carbaughs and I have been working on our family pictures. We have to create a scrapbook and video for Hannah. In order to even start that, I need to organize this year's pictures so I can even find what I need. But then the phone rang and now I have wonderful news to share with you!

It was Heather, our homestudy caseworker with FamilyCore, that called! She just told me that Mary with DCFS in Springfield just re-approved our homestudy!!!! Trying to silently celebrate over here because I have both my boys and two of the Carbaugh girls taking naps. So, yes, I silently danced in my kitchen :)

My mother in law was planning to watch Sierra and Corban for me tomorrow morning while Ian and I ran to the KCC sale to try to find a coat for Sierra. Well, now I will be spending the morning making copies and overnighting all of our paperwork to Holt. I will also overnight the completed homestudy and I800- Supplement 3 to USCIS (Immigration). And, I will send a Power Of Attorney form to the Secretary of State's office to be apostilled. Thankful to a friend that has loaned us a coat for Sierra until I can find one. And today's gorgeous weather still makes winter feel like its a ways off :) The coat can wait and I will be soooooooooo ecstatic to mail all of that to keep us moving toward our Hannah!

Ok, that was way fast! Yipee for you. So happy that this IL requirement didn't slow you down too much. Selfishly, I am so happy because this means I am that much closer to seeing a photo of her!!
