Disappointment

There was a mother induced this past Wednesday who had expressed interest in finding a family for her child. We were told we were the only family that stepped forward. To make a long story short, we knew the odds of sharing in this blessing was very low, but I was hoping. It is now Sunday, the required 72 hour wait has been and gone, and there was no call. Your will, Lord. I ask for Your will for our family. And I pray a special blessing on that precious life. Please be with that mother. Amen.

Sorry for the disappointment; It seems several of our "blog" friends are having a bad week! I hope the next batch of news is better!

I'm sorry C - :( for you..but praise for that little one...hopefully everything will work out and that little one will be able to bask in his/her mommy's love and will never have to heartbreakingly question..."why?"...and could she still change her mind? Your will Lord..Your will...xoxoxox

We are just embarking on the adoption journey. We are looking to adopt a little girl also. I'm just so confused on what route to take. We started with domestic and then the agency said they would only show our profile to those that already gave birth so we started to look international and Bulgaria looked promising because the others were so expensive or huge travel times we couldn't afford away from our boys. Now, I'm seeing 2+ years just from submission of dossier which we are not even close to. I'm 42 and worry that more than 2 years will make me too old and put too much distance between our bio and adopted. So now I'm thinking domestic again doing it more independently. I've been praying so hard that God would show me the right option but so far my head is still spinning.

Can you share any of your experience with me? I'd be forever grateful.

Goodies for Mom,
I tried to respond to you directly, but couldn't find a direct way. So, I'll respond here and hope it makes it to you :) As for an agency refusing to show your profile to only those moms who have already given birth, I have never heard such a thing. I would definitely be questioning that. Is there a different agency you can speak with? As for the wait, it *shouldn't* be more than 2 years for Bulgaria. But the wait is something you have to weigh. I can't tell you what is right for your family. Although emotionally difficult and not what I would have chosen, it works for our family and we know God is controlling the timeline. Have you thought about Ethiopia? They have a much shorter timeline. And I believe the Philippines is shorter as well. RainbowKids.org is a WONDERFUL resource for information gathering. Let me know if you have any other specific questions
